Minted Peas

2 cups fresh green peas
1 onion, minced
2 ounces butter
1/3 cup fresh mint, chopped
1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
salt and pepper to taste

Brown onion in butter, about 10 to 15 minutes. Blanch peas in boiling water for 5 minutes; drain and add to onions. Add mint, sugar, salt, and pepper, and cook for 5 minutes or until hot.
